I couldn't be happier. (Note
The description includes this unit as a replacement for a 1004 incandescent bulb, but I see the title does not include 1004. At first I was worried because these LEDs are longer than the 1004 I am replacing. However, there was plenty of room in the fixtures on my boat for these LED bulbs. They give out plenty of light (a bit more than the 1004s), and the color is a bit whiter than the 1004 (I consider this an advantage....indeed, I think the light color is perfect). The bulbs seem well made and packaged. They took a few weeks to get here because they shipped from China, but that was no problem for me. I couldn't be happier. (Note: be sure to install the bulbs with the right polarity; it the bulb doesn't work, rotate the bulb 180° and re-install; the positive and negative contacts must be correct or the bulb will not work.....unlike an incandescent bulb which will work in either orientation.)

I should have done this much sooner
I just replaced 8 Incandescent overhead lights in my sail boat with these and could not be happier with the results. Despite knowing the power saving advantage I put off replacing the incandescent ones with LED's for three reasons;1. Most LED replacement bulbs were just too expensive to experiment with. At less than $5 each I could afford to give these a try. Do not worry about cheaper = less quality. These 'bulbs' are as nice as any on the market and not one failure out of the set.2. I really do not like the cold, harsh, blue tinged light of most white LED's. The 3000-3500K range (warm white) of these bulbs approximate incandescent light enough that while still umm... 'crisp', still give the softer hued light I prefer from incandescent bulbs3. Finally, I was unsure if the LED's would put out as much light. In this case the 2.5w, 200+ Lumen put out by these bulbs are actually brighter than the original incandescent bulbs even when fresh.Suffice to say these replacement LED's have exceeded my expectations in every way. I can highly recommended these bulbs without reservation for anyone wanting to replace the old, hot, power hungry incandescent bulbs in their cabin lights, reading lights. Plus I will probably never have to change another bulb.

Now my boat's anchoring light is LED and draws very few amps
I did a lot of research before buying these for my pontoon bimini Perco mooring light. They fit into the socket & globe easily. I was able to reverse the polarity of the wiring going into the socket by cutting the wires and installing similar spade connectors to each wire. Easy to do with a 12 volt system. They are going to draw very little power. The brightness is just what I needed and seems to be as advertised. I am happy with the product.

A Little bright for some boats
I bought this pack of 10 bulbs for a sailboat I'm restoring (1987 Cal 28). It had incandescent bulbs throughout the cabin that would drop the battery voltage by .3 volts just turning one of them on. I put these in and didn't see any drop at all until i turned on 4 of them. They fit just fine, and so far all of them have worked (have tested all but 2). Not sure how they'll stand up to the elements long term, but inside, in a decent enclosure, I expect they'll last quite a while. The lights are a bit bright for the berths, but are great in the galley and salon. They're also a little on the white side(but not blue), but I like that. The incandescents were too dim and orange, probably good for at night (to keep your night vision), but not great to see or read by. I'll probably order a set of the smaller ones for the berths, and save the rest of these for the next boat.

Great conversion for my boat
I bought a 10pak of these to convert the cabin lighting in my boat. They are cost effective compared to alternatives, and work great. Nice warm glow, not a harsh white or bluish like some other bulbs I bought.Unfortunately the boat has several different types of lights and sockets, and these won't fit them all.So I'm ordering BA15d sockets to convert the other lights so they'll all use the same bulb, and I'll order another 10pak of these. In some instances, I just removed the old mismatched socket and soldered the 12vdc wires straight to the bulbs themselves. With their long life, I won't have to worry about changing them out for years anyway.

A must have for any battery dependant application
These are fantastic led boat lights. They are a 1004 bulb and will only fit fixtures designed for that bulb. They are brighter then the traditional cheap bulbs and draw very little power allowing me to be out on the water a lot longer at night with more confidence in my battery life. They produce little to no heat, so no worries about getting burned like a traditional light would.Anyone relying on just a deep cycle trolling motor battery to operate, these are a 100% must have item! Please see my pictures

Great on my boat.
Good replacement for the interior lighting on my boat. Color is pretty much the same as the incandescent bulbs. Not a harsh white.

Bright but power hungry.
The bulbs have two contacts on the base, and are very bright. For those of you that are purchasing them for the long life of LEDs, they should be great. However, for those of you that are purchasing them for low amp consumption, not so much...I already have three cabin LEDs on my sailboat that have an integral voltage regulator, and require 0.1A. The LEDs that you are looking at require 0.3A to 0.4A (three or four times the other LEDs). For comparison, an incandescent bulb requires about 1.2A (three or four times what the GRV LEDs require).UPDATE: After a year of use on my boat, they are all working well, and I am very happy with these bulbs.
