Good CPU, recommend
Really good CPU for it's value. I’ve been using the Ryzen 7 5800X for a few years now, and it’s been an absolute powerhouse for both gaming and productivity. The 8 cores and 16 threads make multitasking a breeze, and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it, from heavy gaming sessions to video editing with ease. Performance in gaming is top-notch - smooth, high frame rates even in the most demanding titles. What really stands out is how efficient it is. Even under load, it stays relatively cool and doesn’t consume as much power as I expected for the performance it delivers. It’s also great for tasks like rendering and streaming - things that used to bottleneck my old CPU are no longer an issue. If you're looking for a solid mid-to-high-end CPU that can do it all, the 5800X is still an excellent choice and well worth the investment.

After experiencing a dodgy seller, it's worth it!
I have never found fault with AMD/ASUS products. It's dodgy third party sellers that annoy me. The previous seller sent me a faulty CPU before it was taken over by current seller. This processor is a 1st stepping stone upgrade from my AMD FX 8370 Processor with Wraith cooler for my M5A78L-M-USB3 motherboard. All in preparation for Windows 11.😊My new ASUS A520M-K motherboard can handle more powerful processors but this is, for now affordable, until I'm ready to go higher.😁

Bought for audio work station
Bought this for an audio workstation build so I can have a separate system specifically for audio/video production. It does the job. It isn't a Threadripper, but it doesn't cost a couple of grand+ either and better value than Intel processors.

Powerful Processor for a Smooth Gaming Experience
I recently built a gaming PC for my son using the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Processor, and it has exceeded our expectations. With 8 cores and 16 threads, this processor delivers outstanding performance for gaming and multitasking. The 65W TDP ensures it runs efficiently without overheating, even during intense gaming sessions. The 36 MB cache and up to 4.6 GHz max boost provide lightning-fast speeds, making gameplay incredibly smooth and responsive. While it doesn't come with a cooler, we paired it with a high-quality aftermarket cooler, and it has worked perfectly. The compatibility of the Ryzen 7 5700X with the AM4 socket made the installation straightforward and hassle-free. Plus, the value for money is exceptional – we're getting high-end performance at a competitive price point. My son has been thrilled with the performance of his new gaming PC. It handles all the latest games with ease and offers excellent frame rates and graphics quality. I highly recommend the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Processor to anyone looking to build a reliable gaming rig.

Tis a beast, get ready
So this guy is the top of the line for AM4 and, aside from the 5800X3D, which some suggest is a better pick for gaming due to the 3d cache, is not without its downfalls.A couple of Friendly Warnings.Being the top end, it is power hungry, and not all boards will allow you to use that power, so do your research. My board when I bought this was capable of running it, but the moment it tried to boost, it would pop the overvolt protection and crash the machine. A bios update fixed this for me and has been much more stable since. It is hot. All that sparky juice needs to go somewhere and the 5950X does a fantastic job of turning electricity into heat. Good ventilation will adequately protect you from overheating by simply opening a browser, but you may still experience thermal throttling. I do not water cool, so no idea what mileage you would get from that. Now for the good stuff. After that initial BIOS update, this is solid. I was replacing a 1800X and noticed an immediate improvement.Single core boosting is amazing frequently hitting 4.9Ghz the moment they are asked to do anything, and sometimes tasks have completed before associated progress bars have even started.Multi core boosting is also excellent as long as you do not hit thermal or power throttling, and running all cores 100% may drop you to around 2.7GHz per core, which with 16 of these guys is still pretty awesome. Right now I have 8 cores running between 3.9 and 4.9Ghz with the rest idling at the stock 3.6.My only issue so far has been overheading on my Mobo chipset because this CPU is pushing the rest of my system, especially those PCIe lanes. Also this only started happening when I accidentally blocked the lower front intake. So, if you are on a budget and do not want to put down AM5 money, or already on AM4 and just want to get the most out of your machine, this is a good buy, however the 5800X3D is probably the better option for gaming. But, if you can, I would suggest throwing a bit more cash towards going AM5, you can get a 7700X for around the same price, but your RAM and board is likely to hike the price up a bit.
