Well built unit not made of cheap plastic but METAL.

Solid fan but noisy - need to change speed controller
This is a great fan - metal and quality. But the speed controller on it doesn't allow the speed to be reduced much and so it's pretty noisy (I measured it at 57 decibels - too high for a residential area). I removed the back and replaced the mains wire and used a proper speed controller (Variispeed, Fan Speed Controller from Amazon)- so total cost of about 15 pounds - it now works very well and can run at a lower speed properly and with less noise.

Great sturdy fan - a little noisy.
Bought this to circulate the air in my garage and extract moisture. It is very powerful and seems to move a lot of air which is exactly what i needed.The speed regulator is fairly pointless as the lowest setting is pretty quick.its quite noisy - I have set mine on a timer to switch off at night so not to annoy the neighbours.
